Why Otter Dry?

When wet or semi dry diving, the body has to produce vast quantities of energy just to keep warm. Even when you think you are OK the main body energy is working hard to try to keep you warm. With Otter Dry Systems your survival times in cold water can go from only 3 hours in a wet suit to more than 24 hours. With Otter suits we have tried to balance warmth, flex, feel, comfort, ease of donning, durability, value and style.

Otter Kit Systems At Otter we have tried to match our suits and underwear for conditions expected on a dive. When you buy a suit, unless as a replacement, you need a hood, valves, and underwear. What better way to buy and at a better price than separates.

Otter Tips Otter Tips
The Otter Fit
Drysuit Body Length 1. Body Length. Membrane. Put your hands above your head, the suit should just pull under the crutch, if the length is right.
Drysuit Bend and Touch 2. Bend and Touch. Membrane. Bend to touch your toes. For perfect length the suit should pull tight in the lower back as you touch your toes.
Drysuit Squat 3. Russian Ballet Dancer. Membrane. Crouch down like a russian ballet dancer, and the suit should be tight on the lower back and knees.
Drysuit Drop on Knee 4. Drop on one knee. Membrane. Drop one knee to the floor and check that there are no wrinkles at the ankles and that the crotch does not pull down too tight.
Drysuit Lift and Stretch 5. Stand and Stretch. Membrane. Stand and put one arm above your head and lean to the opposite side. A suit that is too short will raise the same leg as the raised arm from the ground when this is attempted. Put both arms forward, with palms together and check that the back is tight just before the palms of the hands touch.

With Neoprene suits the play of the material must be remembered. A snug fit to the waist with a slightly baggy chest and arms. The latest materials are very stretchy and will fit snugly around big calf's. If an undersuit is to be worn, it should be worn at the time of trying. These suits are made slightly larger to accommodate the undersuit, and you should stipulate this requirement.
